Identity theft is becoming a major problem but by being aware and taking some preventative measures, you may be able to avoid becoming a victim. There are numerous things that you can do to help prevent identity theft. The first is to check your credit reports annually.

This is a good idea for anyone to keep track of their credit rating but it could also produce the first warning sign that there is some fraudulent activity going on in someones name that they were not aware of. One free report is available to everyone each year and additional reports may be available for those who have been victim to identity theft.

Pop-ups are the annoying ads and other things on the internet that open on your monitor as you’re surfing the web. Their main goal is to either get you to visit a certain website or to collect your name and email address for marketing purposes.

The pop-ups that come on your screen as a web page loads are usually caused by something called JavaScript. This is a simple programming language that can be integrated into the HTML used to build web sites.
